Result and totals

A match-result market asks you to choose an outcome defined by the event, such as one side winning or the event ending level where that format applies. A totals market asks whether a measured quantity, often goals or points, will be above or below a stated line. The market label tells you what is being measured, while the event rules explain how it settles.

Do not assume that the same label uses identical rules across every sport. Periods, extra time and abandoned-event treatment can vary. Open the specific market and read its linked terms before confirming a selection.

Handicaps and player markets

A handicap adjusts the score or result for the purposes of a market. The line and whether it is whole, half or split determine what outcomes are possible. Player markets focus on an individual statistic or achievement, and the terms may define whether a player must start, appear or complete a particular part of an event.

Outrights ask about a competition outcome over a longer period, such as which participant wins a tournament. The competition page may list a separate settlement rule. The current event page is the final reference for the exact market wording and availability.

Before selecting

  • Identify the event and market scope.
  • Check time period, line and settlement terms.
  • Review the selected outcome in the betslip.
